Fort De Soto Park: St. Petersburg, Florida
If you’re visiting St. Petersburg, Florida, you won’t want to miss a day spent at Fort De Soto Park. This past weekend, we were looking for a socially distant, relaxing family day and that’s exactly what we found at Fort De Soto Park.
We began the day by making our way though the historic fort which is always a great way to let the kids run around.
Then we found our socially distant spot on the beach front and set up our things for the day. We didn’t have to look hard to see a ton of gorgeous shells & sand dollars and beautiful birds. We spent the day riding the boogie board, playing in the sand and relaxing in the sun.
The sandy beachfront stretches 3 miles so there’s plenty of areas to choose from. Since we were looking for a more desolate area, we actually had to trek a good 1/4 or so to the water. Don’t fret, there are parking lots that are located steps away from the beach but those areas seemed to be more populated.
