You want to buy an espresso machine but every model has mixed reviews. You wonder if you have to spend a lot of money on an espresso machine to get a good quality cup of espresso. I’m here to tell you, no you don’t. If you’re in the market for a good quality affordable machine – here’s my De’Longhi Espresso maker review.

My husband had wanted an espresso machine for quite some time. The espresso maker’s he had been looking at cost at least $500 or more. I personally wasn’t ready to commit to that price tag. But, I love a great cup of coffee so I decided I could replace my Keurig k-cup counter space for an espresso maker. This past Christmas, I bought him a De’Longhi Espresso maker.

I sure am glad I did. This machine makes rich & delicious espresso. It would be hard to go back to a coffee maker after this. I’m a one cup of coffee in the morning type of person, so I expect that one cup to be superb! This maker meets those guidelines for me 🙂

There is no creamer in this cup of coffee. That is crema, isn’t it beautiful? Crema is this silky layer of goodness that extracts from the espresso during the brewing process. It’s a scientific process you can read more about here.

Pros and Cons

  • Affordable at $150
  • Great “starter” espresso machine
  • Brews delicious espresso
  • Piping hot
  • A lot of parts (espresso handle, pod & filter, frother-2pcs)
  • Clean a lot of parts after each cup
  • When using the frother, water drips from the coffee brewing area (more cleanup)

In conclusion, the cup of coffee IS worth the hassle of dealing with all the parts. It’s more time consuming, but I wouldn’t go back! I totally recommend the De’Longhi Espresso Maker 🙂
